Welcome: what the Content Builder does

Welcome. Over this week you will learn to build a Canvas page from ready-made components, style it, and paste it into Canvas. You will not need to write any code.

The Content Builder is a free tool on this site. You drag components onto a page, such as headings, accordions, button panels and grids, and edit their text and colours. When you are happy, you copy the HTML and paste it into a Canvas page. Anyone can build and copy. If you log in, you can also save your pages.

How the week works

There are five short days, about 20 to 30 minutes each. Each day ends with something you can use, and finishing a day earns you a skill badge. Finishing the whole week earns a course badge you can share.

• Day 1: get ready and think about your own pages.
• Day 2: build with components.
• Day 3: make it look right, and make it work for everyone.
• Day 4: bring it into Canvas and build a real page, then a short quiz.
• Day 5: save, reuse and choose your next step.

You will get the most from the week with the Content Builder open in a second tab and a Canvas course where you can create a page. A sandbox course is ideal.
